Just a short drive north of Panacea, you’ll find one of the crowning attractions of Florida’s panhandle. Wakulla Springs is a beautiful place to see wildlife, cool off, and have fun with your family and friends! We’ll review everything that makes Wakulla Springs great, and show you some of its best attractions!

Mashes Sand Beach

It is time for you to feel the sand between your toes. Mashes Sands Beach is a beach that actually has sand here on the Forgotten Coast. It gets even better though, the beach is only a ten-minute drive from the Panacea Motel. Whether you want a quick trip to the beach or you are looking to spend the whole day there, this beach is for all sand and water lovers.

With the exception of Mashes Sands Beach in Panacea, there isn’t a ton of sandy shores for you to lay around by on Florida’s Forgotten Coast. However, there is one major exception to this: St. George Island. Only an hour’s drive from our cute motel, you can take a day trip out to one of the most beautiful sections in our quiet part of Florida.

After a day out on the beach, come back to the land and enjoy some delicious food.

Super cool WATER-FRONT town. Beautifully restored historic downtown and district. Lot's of great seafood, shopping, antique shops and sightseeing! Great day trip! Totally worth the drive!
